The dataset contains records of the Wild Boar (Sus scrofa), a main natural prey of the Iberian Wolf collected in the lower valley of River Sabor (NE Portugal), in the scope of the long-term Ecological Monitoring Program (PME) of the Baixo Sabor Hydroelectric Dams (AHBS), promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. This dataset includes results of surveys made in and around the area affected by the dam, from June 2010 to September 2014. Sampling was performed in transects distributed in the area of the lower Sabor river valley (and some tributaries) and in rivers Maçãs and Angueira, from the river mouth up to 42 km upstream. Data Records
The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. 取樣方法
Sampling was designed to cover the whole valley of the lower Sabor river, its tributaries and rivers Maçãs and Angueira, with particular emphasis on spots of confirmed or potential occurrence of the Iberian Wolf. A total of 44 transects was established in the study area (one per 5x5 km square). Each transect was performed by car, at a speed of 10 km/h, always using a minimum of 2 observers. Transects were mainly established along dirt roads, both along ridges at higher elevation and areas near the Sabor river.
