IICT Colecção Zoológica

The zoological collections in IICT include vertebrates and invertebrates. For the time being, only mammals, birds and amphibians collections are fully cataloged, totalizing about 1500, 5000 and 2000 records, respectively, These include the samples from field expeditions to Guinea-Bissay (1944, 1945, 1946, 1953), to Mozambique (1948, 1955) and to São Tomé and Principe.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 9,244 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

- Data cataloguing was originally done using Specify ver 6. The taxon authority file for mammals was downloaded from ITIS. The authority file for birds follows the IOC bird list.
