Scientific collection of fishes (including the specimens, otoliths and scales) from Natural History Museum of the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal (NatMIP).

Geographic Coverage

Sampling Methods

The collection methods performed were: i) Isaacs-Kidd midwater trawl net; ii) Fyke nets; iii) Electric fishing; iv) Glass eel fishing bycatch; v) Sein net; vi) Trammel net; vii) Fishing rod; viii) Beam trawl; ix) Gill net.

Study Extent Collections were carried out mainly in Iberian river basins, during routine sampling or in some specific campaigns.
Quality Control The data control and quality from the fish collection has been taken care of by the NatMIP curatorial team, in which Dr. Carlos Antunes is the main responsible for checking the data collected.

  1. Additional Metadata

Purpose The aim for publishing this dataset is providing information about the fishes scientific collection (organisms, otoliths and scales) of the Natural History Museum of the Iberian Peninsula (NatMIP).
Maintenance Description This data will be continuing to supply throughout the sampling of specimens.
