Description
The dataset contains occasional records of cliff-nesting bird species of high conservation priority, namely birds of prey (Aves, Accipitriformes and Falconiformes), collected in the lower valley of River Sabor (NE Portugal), in the scope of the long-term Ecological Monitoring Program (PME) of the Baixo Sabor Hydroelectric Dams (AHBS), promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. This dataset includes results of surveys made in and around the area affected by the dam, from February 2010 to September 2014. Data include both occasional observations and observations in the fixed points used to monitor the target species, but performed outside the regular census program. Observations came from all the study area around the Sabor river, from its mouth up to 42 km upstream. The presence and identity of the birds seen were assessed by visual observation with binoculars and/or telescope. The records include taxa identified at the species level.

The dataset contains occasional observations of cliff-nesting bird species of high conservation priority, particularly diurnal birds of prey (Aves, Accipitriformes and Falconiformes), Black Stork (Ciconia nigra) (Aves, Ciconiiformes) and Black Wheatear (Oenanthe leucura) (Aves, Muscicapidae) collected in the lower valley of River Sabor (NE Portugal), in the scope of the long-term Ecological Monitoring Program (PME) of the Baixo Sabor Hydroelectric Dams (AHBS), promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. This dataset includes observations made during surveys in and around the area affected by the dam, from February 2010 to September 2014. Data contains more than 800 individual observations of the target species and other birds of prey or cliff-nesting species species, namely Gyps fulvus (338 observation events), Aquila chrysaetos (222), Neophron percnopterus (112), Aquila fasciata (96), Falco peregrinus (47), Ciconia nigra (26) and Oenanthe leucura (7).

Méthodes d'échantillonnage
The dataset includes non-systematic observations of cliff-nesting bird species of high conservation priority made with binoculars and telescope, throughout the study area. The identification was made "in loco" by experienced observers, with the support of appropriate field guides.
